Is Britney teaming up with Shakira?

It’s the question that Brit fans worldwide are currently asking.

Rumour has it that Britney will fly into Barcelona to join Shakira in the studio on an upcoming duet for Shak‘s new album.  If that wasn’t enough, word is that Black Eyed Pea‘s front-man will.i.am will be producing the track.

It’s not a stretch for both pop stars to work with will.i.am – as both have in the past with Britney recently saying that she’d love to work with him again in the future.

In other music related rumours, will.i.am is set to release his debut solo album #willpower next month – but will a Britney song that she recorded alongside Big Fat Bass make it onto the tracklisting?

Single Four from Femme Fatale Is Inside Out

(cover is not official – artwork TBA)

Sony Music Australia and the 2Day FM Network have both confirmed to us, amongst numerous other sources, that fan favourite Inside Out is the fourth single from Britney’s Australian #1 album Femme Fatale.

Until recently, the release schedule did state that Big Fat Bass was the next single, however this seems to have been recently changed in favour of the midtempo track.

There is talk of multiple singles being in the mix, namely Criminal (and the new addition of possibly Drop Dead (Beautiful) according to exec. producer Dr Luke) being used for different continents, however we don’t have any confirmed or solid information regarding this.

The single won’t be serviced to radio for a few more weeks as I Wanna Go is still continuing to peak – last we checked it was at #6 on US iTunes! – but we’ll let you know dates and more information when we hear it.

Won’t you give me something to remember….

Britney Touring Australia Again?

It’s been a while since we’ve kept you guys updated on the main site about Britney’s tour plans recently, so here’s a recap!

The Herald Sun has today posted an article discussing Brit’s plans for a return to our shores in December with her Femme Fatale tour:

TWO years after her controversy-filled visit Down Under, Britney Spears is rumoured to return to our shores.

An official announcement is yet to be made but it’s believed Spears, who has just announced a new South American leg of her Femme Fatale tour, will come to Australia in late November/early December.

Spears is grinding through the American leg of her extensive 67-date world tour and is set to trek to Europe in September before she does two shows in Brazil in early November.

Two other publications in the last week have also posted articles on the possibility of Brit’s tour making a stopover in Australia.

Our gimmeBRITNEY sources have told us that while talks were happening for Aus and NZ legs of the tour originally, those were stopped once a South American leg had been decided on. However, it seems that very recently, these talks have started up again and Brit MIGHT be coming to Australia after all!

Let’s try and give her a warmer welcome than last time, eh? ;)

Is Britney Spears bringing her Femme Fatale tour to Australia?

Is Britney Spears bringing her Femme Fatale tour to Australia?  The short answer is possibly.

The team at gimmeBRITNEY have been keeping our ears to the ground and we’re hearing the same “stir” that was around when we first heard word that Britney would be bringing her Circus tour to the country.

What we know is that a touring promoter – we’re currently not 100% sure on which one – has been looking at accommodation and venues for a “major artist” to tour in either November or December.  Nothing has been confirmed at this stage but you can bet that we’re keeping a close eye on developments.

Although the Circus tour in 2009 came under fire from the media in Australia, it was one of the most successful concerts in Australian history.  We’re sure that if a promoter had the chance to bring Britney back here, they’d be doing everything they could to make it happen.
