Britney has gone manga for the latest issue of fashion magazine POP! What do you think of the new bride?

It has come to our attention that there are many unhappy Britney fans who have contacted us via different messaging platforms regarding our front page website tease. Because of this we have made the very tough decision to cease the sites countdown. Yes, there is news – and yes, it’s really exciting music-related news – but due to the hype and tension amongst the fans, we do not wish to mislead any Britney fan into thinking the news we have is absolutely 100% solid, and we believe this is the best choice to make.
The story behind the tease on our site is simple. We had received word from a very reliable source a few weeks ago within Sony Music about a new Britney release coming in September, with an album release for November (09.10.11.10 referred to this) and an announcement being made approximately around the 27th of August. This information was from the same source that provided us with the information on The Singles Collection and also the Circus single cover.The exclusive info, coupled with what Darkchild had said himself and MTV reporting the same, has made us believe that this information is true and that a tweet from Britney’s manager was to throw everyone off the scent of the new music coming “not right now”, but soon.
There is also strong indication from other places that something big from Britney is coming. The Glee episode, the release of her new perfume, two magazine features…not to mention pre-orders for a new Britney album have popped up everywhere.
This was enough for us, and we wanted to share this news with every Britney fan – as you know, we pride ourselves on the accuracy, fairness and exclusivity of our Britney music news – but we also wanted to create some sort of excitement and buzz surrounding what our secret could be. We never had any form of money generating tools on our site. This is not about getting hits to get rich. Just about creating something that all Britney fans could enjoy.
On August 9th, UBritney.com reported on what they’d obviously heard from their sources. UBritney.com is a widely respected Britney website – and when we read the information they posted we thought “cool, they’ve heard the same as us – slightly different dates – but cool. This must be happening”. But this didn’t stop us from wanting to continue with the countdown on the site for you guys – even though we thought this was our exclusive. We wanted to also join in the celebrating and excitement of new Britney music news.
Up until this point, we’d read all your comments on various Britney boards – and chatted to a few fellow Britney fans about our viral site.
On August 12th, BreatheHeavy.com reported that the rumours were false, citing a music industry insider. The claim was that there is no new music until the latest 2012. We continued to read comments and reactions to this information. We view this post that BreatheHeavy.com made as inaccurate, false and misleading.
This is where we sit at the moment.
We have decided to cease counting down as a mark of respect to all Britney fans, and to stop speculation on what is already out there from various sites. We do not want to mislead fans into thinking that we know more than what UBritney.com, or any other site had posted. We might have known it first, but at the moment we don’t know any more than they do – Britney’s camp is being extremely tight-lipped on anything music related at the moment. We have never intentionally posted false information to risk our reputation, which is more than what can be said about BreatheHeavy.com – one of their articles was posted as B.S on Britney’s official site just this week. No mention of B.S on gimmeBRITNEY.
gimmeBRITNEY‘s standing point on this right now is there is a STRONG indication that something is still coming next month, and we are thinking very positively. A new album release is still not on the Sony Music release schedule (as we reported earlier), however there are massive signs of promotion there which cannot be explained as to why Britney would do so much for nothing. But there is now doubt in what we’ve heard from BreatheHeavy.com – and although we don’t believe it, we must acknowledge that it was posted from a “source”, and write you guys – the fans – this note.
We figured we may as well be completely upfront with you all – even though we’re still extremely hopeful that September, or even maybe August as Ubritney.com said, will bring us new music. You guys know that we’re usually ontop of music news before anyone else!
We will keep our ears to the ground and post the second we have any more proof that absolutely confirms this – let’s think positively guys! We definitely are.

There is still no release on Sony’s upcoming album schedule, but as many fans have told us this might be the best kept secret that Britney’s camp have made.
We will be watching everything that’s happening very closely – but something is happening, and it’s sure gonna be one huge surprise to us all.
At gimmeBRITNEY, we pride ourselves on only reporting news on Britney’s amazing career – therefore, the past few months have been a little dullsville on the site.
But today we can let you all know that there will be no new Britney album this year. We’re of course keeping our ear to the ground for any news on a single that could possibly be released around November.
Sony Music announced their upcoming plans for the last half of the year, and Britney does not feature on the release schedule (last year The Singles Collection appeared on the schedule that we were first to report on). Who knows, could be a “surprise” or secret.
