Dates leaked and then removed on the Live Nation promoter website included an Australian leg of Britney Spears’ tour ‘The Circus: Starring Britney Spears’. Spears is slated to perform three shows at the Acer Arena in Sydney, right next door to the ANZ stadium where friend Madonna has been pencilled in for a show also.

Although the fact that the two being in the country at the same time fuels speculation of a possible cameo appearance at either show, it’s unlikely that their schedules would allow it.

The current economic situation means that promoters are offering big bucks for the US’s biggest stars to consider coming down under, but it also means that tickets are expected to be between $150-600. Start saving guys, Britney might be coming sooner than we thought!

From a leaked email a few weeks ago, to a new whisper that is coming from venue staff at Acer Arena.  This is purely rumour at this stage, but is backing up what we already know from past information.

Only 1 city in Australia is in consideration as part of Britney’s upcoming Circus World Tour.  Sydney looks to be the one to be hosting the concert sometime around the last quarter of 2009.

BRITNEY HAS GONE PLATINUM!!!!!

This is the first time Britney has gone platinum so quickly in Australian chart history. After only 3 weeks, Britney has shipped – and sold – over 70,000 copies. Congrats Brit.

The last record was only after 4 weeks with My Prerogative.

She also climbs up to #6 nationally, with the single Circus.
